I LOVE designing gardens!

Habitat, Mediterranean, Residential, Church, School or Commercial...

Unlike many other designers I like to do the installation as well, to ensure it’s done according to plan...

... and I get to work outdoors!

My design style combines the aesthetic and scientific in a balanced, beautiful way.

I strive to express your ideas on the design page and on the garden ground.

I've designed Asian, Italian, Mediterranean, and several Biblical gardens.

I enjoy the challenge and complexity of larger commercial projects as well. Commercial projects include stagings for realtors, Napa Auto Parts in Santa Rosa, the Brisbane School District, the Armenian Church in Laurel Village and Taunte Marie Cooking School, both in San Francisco.

My training includes Meritt College in Oakland and the Garden Design program through the UC Berkeley Extension program in San Francisco. I apprenticed with Don Mahoney at Strybing Arboretum in San Francisco.

I've placed several examples of my designs, along with some before-and-after pictures, below:

Habitat gardens attract hummingbirds and beneficial insects -- butterflies, ladybugs, and friendly bees...

Mediterranean gardens are beautiful in the southern European tradition. I utilize plants from the southern hemisphere, usually Australia and New Zealand. They look great year round and require less water.

This project was for Napa Auto Parts in Santa Rosa. It's the largest of four separate areas. The plants indicated will endure the extremes of heat and cold prevalent in Santa Rosa.

This design is for Smith Ranch Homes in Novato.

My plan replaces a high water use lawn with a sturdy drought-tolerant plant palette.
